(Titan)ic Season

In NFL on December 26, 2009 at 2:30 PM

All I can say is “great season” when the discussion comes up about the Tennessee Titans…. I mean starting off 0-6.. And reaching 7 wins before the last game of the season is pretty good… We could just imagine if the combination of players would have started since day one… The future looks bright with the Titans…. Chris Johnson is chizzling himself in the “RB granite” of great RBs and Vince is just Vince…. Sad that Steve McNair couldn’t have seen his pupil rise out of the jaws of scrutiny…. But he will never be forgotten….

Unfortunately the loss to the San Diego Chargers, on Christmas night, cancelled all hopes of an extended season for the Titans…. The story of the 2009 Tennessee Titans will be one of adversity, struggle, and rejoice…. Hell and even perhaps record breaking….

(Titan)ic comeback

In NFL on December 26, 2009 at 1:06 AM

The 2009 Tennessee Titans dug themselves in a hole early in the season… So deep that it made fans think it’s time to pack it up for the remainder of the schedule…. Starting off 0-6 and a big blowout game by the hands of the Patriots, had fans hoping their Titans wouldn’t match the 2008 Lions winless record….. A stubborn Jeff Fisher continued to start a struggling Kerry Collins until the owner of the Titans demanded for back-up QB Vince Young to start…. Needless to say that was the spark that the Titans needed to get back on track…. On track to complete a 7-1 turn around to put them at a 7-7 record with possibilities of a playoff birth…. Never has a team that has fallen so far behind the pack, ever has gained ground so quickly…. Seeing the Titans in the playoffs just reassures that the “never say die” attitude exist and can be exhibited at anytime it’s applied….

2105

The “rushing yards for the season” peak, that every RB sets his eyes for, still is own by one of the greatest that did it…. Eric Dickerson…. With that upright running style and those hog knees really made you think twice about trying to hit him around the waist…. Since watching him at SMU…(NBC would play them)… I knew he was a good runner and someone I emulated my game after… Less than a dozen RBs in the history of the games are in the 2000 yard club…. This year Florida native Chris Johnson has a good chance of breaking the record of 2105…..
To break the record….. A RB needs to average at least 132 yards each game to surpass the great Eric Dickerson
